Prerequisites
To enrol into this unit, students must have completed the required four core cosmetic tattoo units as well as HLTINF005 – Maintain Infection Prevention for Skin Penetration Treatments (Infection Control Certificate).

Course Information
Course Summary
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare for, design and perform areola tattooing procedures for clients following breast surgery, mastectomy or breast reconstruction. It covers assessing client suitability, developing an appropriate treatment plan, advising clients on expected outcomes, preparing equipment, performing the procedure, and providing comprehensive aftercare advice.
This unit applies to cosmetic tattoo practitioners working in salons or clinics where cosmetic tattooing services are provided. All skills must be performed in accordance with Commonwealth, State and Territory legislation, Australian Standards, and relevant industry codes of practice.
Course Prerequisites
- SHBBCOS001 – Provide cosmetic tattooing consultations.
- SHBBCOS002 – Apply knowledge of colour theory and pigmentology to cosmetic tattooing
- SHBBCOS003 – Incorporate elements and principles of design to cosmetic tattooing
- SHBBSSC004 – Identify the function and structure of skin and hair for cosmetic tattooing
