Asbestos Awareness in the Workplace - Online Course
Couldn't load pickup availability
Asbestos was widely used in Australian construction materials up until the late 1980s. When asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are disturbed during renovation, maintenance, or demolition work, microscopic fibres can become airborne, creating serious and potentially life-threatening health risks.
This online awareness course is designed for workers who may come into contact with, or inadvertently disturb, ACMs as part of their role. This includes electricians, plumbers, gas fitters, air-conditioning installers, carpenters, joiners, plasterers, demolition and construction workers, painters, maintenance workers, solar panel installers, insulation installers, site managers, and emergency services personnel.
The course provides essential knowledge to help learners identify potential asbestos-containing materials, understand their legal responsibilities under WHS legislation, and apply safe work practices that minimise exposure and reduce risk in the workplace.
