If Piercings Had Personalities: Which One Are You?

If Piercings Had Personalities: Which One Are You?

We’ve spent all month talking about healing, hygiene, business hacks and myth-busting.

So for the last week of March, we’re having a little fun.

Because let’s be honest piercings aren’t just pretty placements -- They’re personality statements.

After 20 years working in the industry, you start noticing patterns. Certain piercings attract certain energy and certain personalities gravitate toward certain placements.

Is it scientific? Not exactly.
Is it wildly accurate most of the time? Absolutely.

So I ask, if piercings had personalities, which one are you?

Helix – The Bold Adventurer

The helix is confident without being loud.

It says:
“I’ll try something new, it will be subtle and classy”

Helix personalities:

  • Love subtle statement jewellery
  • Appreciate a statement piece
  • Enjoy curating ear stacks
  • Have a Pinterest board for everything

Our Helix lovers are not afraid to step outside the basics but they don’t need the chaos either. A sleek gold hoop or delicate titanium stud is absolute perfection for them.

Helix energy is adventurous but  also controlled.

Tragus – The Minimalist Stylist

The tragus doesn’t scream for attention, its tucked away subtly and whispers sophistication.

Tragus personalities:

  • Appreciate clean organised aesthetics
  • Love small details that make a big impact
  • Keep their wardrobe curated
  • Probably own “that” perfect black outfit

A tiny flatback stud or micro hoop is their signature, its effortless, polished and intentionally understated.

The tragus personality doesn’t need five piercings to stand out this one well-placed detail is enough.

Daith – The Mysterious Trendsetter

The Daith energy is intriguing, it’s the piercing people lean in to look with that puzzled expression.

Daith personalities:

  • Love trend forward styles
  • Keep up with what’s new
  • Have a slightly mysterious vibe
  • Enjoy being just a little different

They’re not basic and they’re proud of it. A statement clicker or an ornate ring works best, basically anything something unexpected. The daith personality likes pieces that spark conversation, using fun facts like it can help with migraines.

You’ll often hear:
“Wait… what piercing is that?”

Navel – The Confident Show-Off

The navel piercing has main-character energy. It says: “Yes, I planned this outfit around my jewellery.”

Navel personalities:

  • Are playful and confident
  • Love summer
  • Don’t shy away from attention
  • Embrace body positivity

They enjoy styling their piercing with crop tops, beachwear or festival outfits. It’s one of the most expressive Body Piercings and it’s only visible when they want it to be. The king that radiates confidence.

Industrial – The Edgy Risk-Taker

The industrial piercing doesn’t play it safe, or kind. It’s bold, structural and slightly rebellious. People with industrial piercings are up for a challenge.

Industrial personalities:

  • Are comfortable standing out
  • Appreciate strong design
  • Take calculated risks
  • Probably had a “phase” and now own it

This piercing isn’t subtle, it requires commitment, patience and anatomy suitability.

It’s not for everyone and that’s exactly the point, industrial energy is unapologetic and daring.

Lobe – The Classic All-Rounder

Never underestimate the lobe, may be basic but they are the most popular of the lot.

Lobe personalities:

  • Love variety
  • Appreciate low maintenance
  • Enjoy switching jewellery often
  • Love a good tradition

Lobes are versatile, you can dress them up or down. They are acceptable in all situations, basic classy diamond studs on Monday followed by hair down and chunky hoops on Friday.

The lobe personality knows you don’t need to be extreme to be expressive because classic never goes out of style.

Eyebrow – The Cool Communicator

The eyebrow piercing has quiet confidence. It says: “I know exactly who I am.” And I’m totally cool about it.

Eyebrow personalities:

  • Are expressive
  • Don’t follow every trend
  • Enjoy alternative style
  • Communicate confidence without trying

It’s visible but not overwhelming and it gives that edge without the chaos.

There’s a self-assuredness to eyebrow energy where itt doesn’t seek validation.

Septum – The Statement Maker

Septum energy walks into a room and owns it. They are the statement makers.

Septum personalities:

  • Are unapologetically bold
  • Love switching jewellery styles
  • Appreciate both minimalist and dramatic looks
  • Have strong self-expression

One day it’s a tiny seamless ring, to show this is who I am and the next week it’s a dramatic ornate clicker. Versatile, fearless and confident. Septum wearers don’t ask permission they dive in head first.

Lip / Monroe – The Flirty Detail Lover

The lip piercing (including Monroe-style placements) is playful. It’s subtle, until it’s not.

Lip personalities:

  • Enjoy small surprises
  • Like expressive facial jewellery
  • Appreciate soft statement pieces
  • Have charismatic energy

It catches the light when you smile, delicate but powerful. There’s something undeniably charming about lip piercing energy and the playfulness of the personalities that wear them.

Tongue – The Secret Confidence

The tongue piercing is the most private of the group. You wouldn’t always know someone has one and that’s the appeal.

Tongue personalities:

  • Are too confident
  • Don’t need public attention
  • Enjoy subtle rebellion
  • Have strong inner self-assurance

It’s bold but discreet, only those close to them know it exists and that’s exactly how they like it.

Why This Actually Matters

While this post is fun, there’s something real underneath it.

Piercings are about identity.

They’re about:

  • Self-expression
  • Confidence
  • Milestones
  • Personal style evolution

No matter your age, background or aesthetic, there’s a piercing that fits your personality and if you’re training to become a body piercer, understanding personality types helps you guide consultations better.

Because piercing isn’t just anatomy and technique.

It’s reading people, it’s understanding their vibe and recommending something that suits not just their face but their energy.

That’s where true professionalism lives.

So… Which One Are You?

Are you:

  • The bold Industrial?
  • The polished Tragus?
  • The mysterious Daith?
  • The confident Navel?
  • The statement Septum?

Or are you stacking multiple personalities at once?

There are no wrong answers, Piercings evolve with you.

Which piercing personality are you? Did I get it right or do you have other ideas?

Tag your friends. Share it to your story. Start the debate.
